The range of radio transmission is highly affected by the environment. The line-of-sight transmission range of RADACAT C2 MINI is up to 10 miles (16 km). The more open the space, the greater the range.

 

More generally, locations such as an unobstructed field, desert, or beach can allow ranges up to 6 miles (9.6 km). Range is typically up to 3 miles (4.8 km) in crowded areas like cities, mountains, or forest. However, under some circumstances, such as when blocked by buildings or where there is electromagnetic interference, the range can become limited to a few hundred meters.

 

Placement of your device also affects its range. A device hung in a high place in the open air will give you a better range. For example, clipping the device on top of your backpack or to the shoulder strap will yield a better range than keeping it in your pocket or car.
